Re-Entry for All by Brent Lovett
Re-Entry for All Nevada – A Nevada 501-C3 Non-Profit.
Providing Sustainable Workforce by providing Housing, Food, Mental Health Services, Vocational Training together with Job Placement to any person who is experiencing loss of housing, loss of work and is returning to the workforce.
History: In May 2020, in the height of the Covid Pandemic, Brent Lovett, the Imagineer behind Re-Entry for all Nevada and Lyon Modular, was sitting in a construction trailer in downtown Reno next to the famous “Biggest Little City in the World” sign.
Mr. Lovett was told that there was no workforce in downtown Reno for his construction projects. Each day Mr. Lovett would see 800-900 homeless being released from the downtown temporary Homeless shelter.
Mr. Lovett started to walk and talk with each person, and listen to their needs, wants and desires. This outreach led to the creation of Re-Entry for all Nevada. Over the next 20 months, Mr. Lovett has housed, fed, and trained over 400 persons.
Creating a strong workforce to undertake the largest adapted reuse project in Nevada history. During 2021, Mr. Lovett hired over 283 persons.
A sustainable workforce is one where the work environment is caring and supports employee wellbeing.
Employees are not seen as primarily resources that can be deployed (and depleted) to serve employers’ economic ends. Their skills, talent, and energies are not overused or overly depleted. They are not faced with excessive workload nor with a relentless pace of work for weeks or years on end. During times of crisis (e.g., natural disasters, sickness), employees are given time to recover or seek the extra resources they need to be able to perform in the future. Burnout is avoided and workers are given time for renewal.
When human resources are used in a sustainable way, employees are not only able to perform job demands, but to flourish, be creative, and innovate. Sustainable human resource management practices develop positive social relationships at work, which enhances business performance, including greater cohesion among organizational members, commitment to common purpose, hope for success, resilience, knowledge sharing, and collaborative capacity.
